So, I overcame Vancouver’s snow-transit madness and made it, only a little late to the opening keynote, to Web Directions North. My appearance was a pretty last-minute decision – I basically took one look at the student price and thought, I think this could be quite worthwhile. From my first glance at the schedule, this is where I think I shall be:
- 10:45 – Room 1, Josh William – Design Niche
- 11:45 – Room 2, Tara Hunt, Government 2.0 (really, the thing I’m looking most forward to
- 13:45 – Room 2, Brian Oberkirch – Social Service
I’m also twittering a little bit about it…my big goal here is to wrap my head a bit more around the technical parts of doing web design to help out a volunteer project I’m working on (though honestly, I’m starting to get a little disillusioned with them). To be honest though, it’d be great for me just to have under my belt in and of itself, even if stuff is starting to multiply at a terrifying rate around me…
Edit: I overheard that TechVibes is liveblogging the event. I’m chipping away at the disadvantage of being utterly late to the game and not knowing anyone virtually ahead of time. Go me!
