I am so stoked about TransitCamp right now, riding high from conversations I had post-Google Transit/Translink announcement. Part of the thing that’s convinced me too is actually my English class, where we were talking about the sorts of things English classes talk about, which has me convinced that I haven’t been making enough Captain Picard-like “Make it so!” statements.
I want to see TransitCamp happen. I know about the politics, the issues, the groups, the players big and small, what’s at stake and who else is in the fray. I want to see it happen, because I think the more discussion and people we have at the table, the more we get to dialogue, and, the dream is, the more potential we have to make big things happen. I don’t think critical thinking has to be antagonistic, and I don’t think other people think that either.
If you’re interested in TransitCamp, please go to the VancouverTransitCamp wiki page and express your interest in one of the following ways:
- Be a TransitCamp organizer and sign up to the list. Leave a link we can reach you at if I don’t know you. Introduce yourself in the comments to this post or e-mail me if that suits you better.
- Tell us if you’re interested in attending, as a rider, official or on behalf of an organization
As a side note, a big thanks to TransitCampBayArea organizers for doing their thing and by doing so, getting my ass in gear. Can you tell I’m a younger sibling, spurred by competition?
